On July 26th, 2018 the bike patrollers local to the Twin Cities area had a meeting and decided to form their own mountain bike patrol.

We discussed many options and decided this was the best option to go since IMBA (International Mountain Bike Patrol) is no longer offering a National Mountain Bike Patrol. So we voted to have me (Shad Holland) as acting president to get things going.

Our mission will be to bring the mountain bike patrol back to its original purpose, to support local mountain bike trails by assisting, educating and informing trail users while on patrol. We will also continue providing medical support for the many local events we have in the Twin Cities Area. Some of the events we currently patrol are the Twin Cities Marathon, City of Lakes Loppet ski race and many Team Ortho running events throughout the year. To provide better support, we must grow our membership. This will be one of our main initial objectives.

I am excited about this new opportunity to be part of something so awesome! As president of the TCMBP I will do my best to help grow the local Mountain Bike Patrol, build old and new relationships, and bring the patrol back to its original purpose.

Thanks for reading.
